I’m Mike Cassidy, a retired Naval Officer with 22 years of leadership experience, and I’m running for Chesapeake School Board. My wife and I chose to retire here because the schools made us feel at home, and our three children have attended schools across the city — from Greenbrier to Hickory to Grassfield. We even had our sister-in-law move to Chesapeake from Louisiana with her three boys and they have thrived since joining the Chesapeake Public School system!

Through sports, activities, and daily school life, I’ve seen the strength and diversity of every part of Chesapeake, from Western Branch to South Norfolk and Deep Creek. I believe in empowering students and supporting teachers from all backgrounds and neighborhoods, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

With decades of leadership experience and a deep commitment to our community, I’m ready to serve our schools and help keep Chesapeake classrooms strong, safe, and successful.
